My oil paintings are painted plein air (open air). It is a wonderful feeling to be with nature. Painting out of doors is a terrific reason to commune with the world. You can see that I paint in a brisk and aggressive style with emotion carrying me along. If I want stark realism I would use my camera, but camera work does not define my inner vision of light, shape, form and color that only tubes of paint and brushes can supply. NOW TO ADD ON AND UPDATE...Creating landscapes with the computer is fun and fast. Like writing a poem or short story. It is like painting with acrylics, but even better. These landscapes live in a land of mist and flavor and come in all sorts of texture, shape, form and of course light. I hope your eyes enjoy.

A cool and frigate landscape to balance the winter season that is upon us. Embracing the conditions of nature, I find, helps me to understand and appreciate the subtle and dynamic ethos offered!

A few of my paintings hanging on the walls in the house and studio. I have memories,  happy memories of the places where I set up my easel, felt the sun on my shoulders and enjoyed life.

I would like to share one more painting that sits above the fireplace. The wood fired insert keeps us warm on those cold winter days and the painting keeps me warm in remembrance of that glorious sunny summer day when it was painted.

This is a Landscape I painted a few years ago. The form, texture, color and shape created within a painting can create a visual emotion that, sometimes, cannot be explained. Just appreciated!

Landscape painted with drama, movement and personality. My eyes lay over the landscape and I feel the buzz.
