Winding through our city of Eugene is a beautiful river called the Willamette (a name the native  Kalyapua  Indians gave to the river). I painted this last summer while I was standing in the shade on the east side of the river. It was a hot day and the light was bright and I was happy to be in the shade with the peace and quiet of the surrounding forest. It was a lovely day.
