I have always enjoyed Cartoons especially the ones found in Books and Comic Strips. With that in mind the creations I present will be a mixture of stick people on cave walls doing silly things. That is the best way I can explain this series. I have always been interested in very ancient cave painting from all over the world created by different types of cultures. Mine is inspired by these forebears, but with a modern situational twist (sometimes). Enjoy! P.S. I have also added into the mix ancient Mosaics created from my mind. I think they are relative to the theme and are fun to create.
Today there is great fun in fishing and playing and running along the shore with friends. Playing on the hills, sliding down. Activities that have stood the test of time. Way back in time, thousands of years ago, fishing was one of the ways you gathered food and running towards or running away from something was also the way you stayed alive. Life was not all fun and games. Today fishing and running about is to help relax from the hustle and bustle of modern day life with family and friends!
Birds flying to their trees. Fixing a car while the children wait. People racing home for dinner. A story is told, but not necessarily in that order of events. Events hidden on a cave wall for explorers to decipher many years after the fact. For me it is racing home for dinner first!
Like Prometheus in a never ending task over and over. Or the building of the Great Pyramids always pushing a stone into place, I like to think of my stick people as volunteers building a better place. Dream on!
A stage, a party with entertainers? Our ancestors new how to have fun even back in the day. We should never lose the ability to have kindness and fun at the same time together at a gathering.
What is the story? My feeling was about sharing, passing along, helping and organizing. Just a few projections of the human condition. All positive no negativism. Peace Out!
From dark and dusty caves. Painted thousands of years ago. Maybe to express a good hunt or the wish of a good hunt. I just go to the supermarket. My, how times have changed.
Always try to give a helping hand. When possible. One can never know when each of us will need one. What goes around, comes around!
A Mosaic tile wall located in an ancient Gymnasium in southern Italy? Well, in my imagination it is, but alas it is a fabrication of athletic fun that can truly be a replay from 2,000 plus years ago. We still play tug-o-war, run for fun and sit on a wall watching the festivities. All is not lost with time!
Our Paleolithic Gatherer and Hunter taking an art break from the stresses of daily life. From approximately 3 million years ago (old stone age) to 11,000 years ago (Pleistocene) these humans perfected the use of stone tools. We could probably learn a thing or two from them to this day. You never know!
While not going as far back as cave paintings this Mosaic represents Atlas. In Greek Mythology Atlas is a Titan condemned to hold up the Heavens for Eternity. Enjoy.
From the depths of the Earth we have brought the elements to the surface to be molded into "Things". Some of them useful and many not. It is the way of humanity.
Before there were watches to tell us the time there was always Sunrises and Sunsets to mark the day. Always! And our dear Paleolithic friends are celebrating a Sunset of which we all are familiar with and enjoy.
What is within a heart if one does not try to hold it close? My heart, your heart, all hearts beat to the same drummer....Life.....and love....
During the Paleolithic period (1.8 million to 11,000 B.C.E.) our ancestors, during the Stone Age, had a different take on the dangers in life. Recorded History from my Mind!
During the Stone Age things were different, but also the same in a strange way. Recorded history from my mind!
Somewhere in the far distant past our Paleolithic artist friend created this wonderful rendering of his cat. Yes, if you are wondering, people loved cats then as they do now.
why?
The never ending chicken story. Many answers, some very good and some even better.
Another helper moving a large red ball from A to B. Some things never change...

Before the discovery of metallurgy, when life was short and hard. When stones were the tools of creating habitat. In a cave hand prints embrace a brilliant substance we call gold. Coveted for millions of years for many reasons. This time for being a bright spot in a dark cave lit by a torch. It must have meaning. It must have magic. It has ruled humanity for many a day...
