Camera Obscura

Interestingly, it is possible, Anthropologists say, that the Camera Obscura (From the Latin "Dark Chamber") was used in Paleolithic Cave Paintings  tho in a primitive manner without the knowing concept of math. Trial and Error is an honest method to a positive result!...The mathematical concept was thought of, Scientifically, as early as 1046 B.C.E..Indeed, a review of the concept should be read by the reader as it is a vast topic with positive implications that have affected human progress in many ways...I have built a Camera Obscure (Precursor To The Camera) and am utilizing this ancient mathematical concept and physical implement to create images that represent my relationship to Gaia (Mother Earth). Enjoy

This is my Camera Obscura Box which I built. (Top Left) is the front and side...(Top Right) is the panel that holds the lens...(Bottom Right) side view from viewing box to front...(Bottom Left) Looking into the Viewing Box...The images are focused sliding the viewing box towards the front or backwards....Great Fun

Calendula Patch in our Herb Garden

Changed out the lens and find that the focal point becomes more centered and bright. I like that the surrounding areas are darker and more mysterious. I will use that visual aspect for more dramatically themed scenes. It is the process and the joy that stimulates life.

A Teacher of Science and Math, Bruce was into my Camera Obscura. He was about to leave when I captured this image. I was rushed a bit, but was happy with the end result as was Bruce. Enjoy Life
